I purchased GoDaddy cart to integrate with QB merchant account, but their cart is more of a storefront and does not integrate with my exsting website well.
Can anyone recommend a simple shopping cart I can integrate? Probably server based. I have about a dozen services i sell that need customization. An autoresponder to the buyer would be ideal. (is that a given?)
Your help is greatly appreciated.
thanks
My website if U R curious is www.slinkproductions.com

Re: can U recommend a simple shopping cart for a small service based busines?
Sat, January 6, 2007 - 1:55 PMI couldn't get your site to load so I can't see the layout. However, Joomla! has some carts that do what you want I think. GoDaddy has Joomla as a part of the value added stuff in their plans, well at least in their Linux hosting plans. Joomla! and the cart and different themes are free too. No need to spend money for a cart. -

I have been on the phone with GoDaddy and they pretty much offer a cart-storefront. Not so good for me. Id have to use frames.

Sat, January 6, 2007 - 2:09 PMOK you have a nice three column layout with a header and links header. You should be able to adapt any number of Joomla! themes to your design. If you go through their list of carts, you might turn up something, there are several. -

I have the deluxe edition which integrates with Quickbooks Merchant Account.
As I said, it is more of a storefront with limited customization particulary with the nav bars. readers buying a product are pushed to stay in the cart's storefront and cannot be pushed back to my existing site.
Wish they had something simpler.

Re: can U recommend a simple shopping cart for a small service based busines?
Sat, January 6, 2007 - 3:32 PMI second BLC's reccomendation to dump that cart and get something else. I know paypal has something that is very easy to set up but requires a great knowlege of HTML. The Joomla option is easy to do as is other CMS's. What you are looking for is "site integration".

The "they " is you. You have options! There are all kinds of carts out there. Some require lots of coding, some are simple in their implementation. The reason I mentioned Joomla is because it is easy to use and you can make it look like your site as it is now. Joomla! is a Content Management System. It is in Godaddys value added programs as I said. You can customize it to look like your site and just have it contain a shopping cart. If you go to Joomlas site, you can see it and see the carts that are offered with it.
